Trinity Welcomes Jake’s Boys on January 22, 2017 at 6:30pm
Jake’s Boys are from the Gibson City area and travel doing concerts as a southern gospel group committed to sharing the Love and Gospel of Jesus Christ through words, music and fellowship. The group gives free concerts for worthy causes–our worthy cause is called Sole Hope.
Sole Hope reaches children in need in Uganda. They have the simplest of solutions for a serious, debilitating problem: chiggers! Most of us have never gotten a chigger in our feet, but they are quite a problem for children in many parts of Africa. Sole Hope’s created a pattern for making shoe tops out of denim. We supply the denim; we cut out the patterns. We send them to Uganda where they have soles made from locally recycled tires. Local shoemakers very carefully craft the Sole Hope shoes that are then given out at medical clinics.
We need you to make this happen. First, please come to the free concert! Bring friends, and family; you’ll have a great time, and you can enjoy fellowship and refreshments afterward. You can bring denim, or you can share a monetary gift to help if you wish.
Most importantly, please join us the following Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 12:30 in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a party with a purpose; namely, to cut out shoes to send to Sole Hope. It’s an easy and fun way to really make a difference for someone! The journey to a new life begins with you, a pair of scissors, and friends.
