Who Holds You Together?

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15–17 (NIV)

The Bible says in Col. 1:17: “…in him (Jesus) all things hold together.” Col. 1:17 (NIV) People might be worried and stressed about what the future holds. But the truth is that we don’t need to know what the future holds. We do need to know who holds the future. In this world we will have troubles but Jesus has overcome the world. That word “hold together” means that Jesus is the one who is literally holding the Universe together!

I know that in times of national and worldwide crisis like we are experiencing now, people can become worried and stressed. But given what the Scriptures tell us about Jesus, I think the real question to ask ourselves in our hearts is this: “Who hold my universe together?” Your personal peace, your confidence before God, your ability to think more and care more for others depends on how you personally answer that question.

What holds the universe together is not an idea or a virtue, but a person: the resurrected Christ. So, do you really think if Jesus can hold the entire Universe together at the subatomic level that He can’t take care of your current difficulty? You can place all your confidence in Him! When you believe that Jesus is your Mighty God, you will be surprised by the hope that you will have!
