Stay-at-Home

Dear Friends,
I pray that you are well as we experience this Stay-at-Home event. I hope that you’re having time to grow in your faith and in fellowship with those around you. This is a reminder to join us for Worship online this Sunday at 11AM. I’ll be starting a new series based on the movie Risen, and called “The Message of the Cross Come to Life though the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!” Click for connection details.

Blessings in Jesus – He is Risen Indeed!

No Wee Disciples Preschool–Extended thru April 30th

The Governor of Illinois is following President Trump’s request and extending the Shelter at Home Mandate thru April 30th. This means that we will not return to Wee Disciples Preschool in April. I am so sad at this news because I miss the students greatly. I will continue to stay connected with our Wee Disciples Family through website and Facebook posts, emails, and Zoom Meetings through April.

God’s Blessings,

Wee Disciples Preschool Resumes-April 8

The Governor of Illinois has enacted a Shelter at Home mandate that is in effect thru April 7th.  Wee Disciples Preschool will follow this mandate, and, as of now, we plan to resume classes on April 8th.
While we are Sheltering at Home in the next few weeks, I will post each day a few suggested fun activities to try with your preschooler in order to help support families while spending time at home.  Look for the posts on our Preschool Posts located on the Trinity website.
I continue to pray for the health and safety of our Trinity Lutheran family and Wee Disciples Preschool family each day.
God’s Blessings to all,
Karen Rohrer

A “Stay at Home” Update

Good News! The Trinity Office will maintain weekday hours (10 AM-2 PM) in accordance with “Basic Minimum Operations” in the governor’s “Stay at Home” order. Please feel free to call if you have any needs or concerns. We especially want to help our seniors and those with underlying health conditions, who should avoid going out at this time. We have volunteers ready to assist you if need help getting groceries or medicines. Mike can help coordinate this, so please don’t hesitate to call the church office.
Pastor Shawn is available anytime. It’s true that personal visits are limited, but you can phone, text or email. Pastor is posting devotions daily and also contacting members. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” John 16:33 (NKJV).

COVID-19

With the Centers for Disease Control now restricting gatherings to fifty people or less and for elderly people and those with underlying health issues to not more than ten, Trinity Lutheran Church will not be holding Pastor Ehlers’ Tuesday Morning Bible Class, the midweek Lenten fellowship meal and worship this Wednesday. This next weekend’s worship (March 21 and 22) will also be canceled. Also, I received notice that hospitals don’t allow clergy calls at this time; however, it’s comforting to know that Chaplain Bob Frank is on staff at OSF and Chaplain Jeff McPike is on staff at Carle.

We will go forward on a week by week basis, and we will provide information in as timely a manner as possible. Additionally, I am in the process of developing online devotions and worship resources that I’ll post on the Trinity website. During this time, the church office is open as usual, and you’re welcome to call, text or email me at any time.
