Jesus said in John 4:14, “those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” The woman in this text, to whom Jesus was talking, really wanted this living water. The word for “bubbling” in Greek means ‘a continuous flowing’, and the word “spring” is a natural source, not something like a well which is made by human effort. The Holy Spirit was working in the woman, creating faith, and a wonderful witness, too, which blessed her whole village. The woman is a pattern for our life in Christ also.
