The Call of Christmas – The Call to Prepare

The first Sunday in Advent, Pastor Shawn talks about the vision Zechariah had in the Temple where the Angel Gabriel announced the birth of John the Baptist and the coming of the Messiah. Zechariah “was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him…13 and said: ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John…17 he will go on before the Lord to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.’” from Luke chapter 1.
This was a “Call to Prepare”, so how can we respond to this call to prepare during the Christmas season? One, we can stop to meet with Jesus every day, and two; we can listen to what God has to say to us.
